Class Details

This class will give students a chance to practice conversing and improve Spanish speaking skills. Please note that this is an immersive class where the instructor and students will only speak Spanish. Students will be expected to understand main ideas, answer questions, give brief explanations, and give their opinion on various topics. Mrs.Deerhake will provide any necessary materials prior to the start of class. Students should have at least had Spanish 1 before signing up for this course.

This week’s class focuses on the Dominican Republic and Conversing About Vacations

Recommended for high school students.

Instructor

Christine DeerhakeMrs. Christine Deerhake became an educator in 2008 when she earned her Education degree from Middle Tennessee State University. Upon graduation, she moved to the Dominican Republic where she taught for 6 ½ years. During her time in the D.R., she worked in various educational settings in both the public and private sectors. In 2015, she moved back to the United States and began working in homeschool settings. Teaching is one of Mrs.Christine’s biggest passions, but some other things that bring her joy and happiness are the Gospel of Jesus, spending time with family and friends, and anything the color purple!
